Tips for activities that not everyone knows or does

Ibiza offers much more than clubbing and sunbathing. Talk to us if you are looking for something special and take a look at the suggestions below.

Visit to the winery Can Rich

The Can Rich winery is located between Sant Antoni and Buscastell. It is the largest on the island and has been producing its own products with the ‘Tierra de Ibiza’ seal of quality since 1997.

During the tour, visitors learn more about the history of this winery and the production of the various wines and the famous herbal liqueur Hierbas Ibicencas. Afterwards, there is a wine tasting and the products tasted and other home-made products can be purchased in the winery's own shop.

Open from Monday to Friday (except public holidays) from 10 a.m. to 2.00 p.m.

Pre-booking is required.

Visit to Ibiza Botánico Biotecnológico

The Biotechnological Botanical Garden in Ibiza is unique in its kind in Europe and provides knowledge gathered by accomplished biologists in the field. Here you can not only learn about the different habitats of the island, but also discover the possibilities of biotechnology, which will help us in the coming fight against climate challenges.

One of the main attractions of the Ibiza Botánico Biotecnológico is its so-called plant piano. In keeping with the spirit of knowledge dissemination and technological innovation, the park also has an apparatus that extracts drinking water from the atmosphere, so you can taste water extracted directly from the sky above Ibiza.

You can also watch a photobioreactor at work here, producing natural fertilizer from microalgae, which have a particularly important property: They can filter large amounts ofCO2 from the air. Other attractions of the garden are the bonsai exhibition and the artificial beehives. Almost more fascinating than the sight of these two exhibition areas are the stories and anecdotes that surround them.

The Botanical Garden can be explored alone with an audio guide or with the guidance of a knowledgeable person.

Paella Time

According to Wikipedia, paella is a Spanish rice dish cooked in a pan and was originally the national dish of the Valencia region and the east coast of Spain. Nowadays, paella is very well known throughout Spain and has come to epitomise the Spanish national dish per se.

You can order paella in many places on Ibiza and usually choose between numerous variations. For example, you can find

  • Valencian paella
  • Seafood paella
  • Meat paella
  • Black paella or black rice
  • White paella
  • Mixed paella
  • Paella with vegetables
  • Lobster paella

However, always bear in mind that a ‘real’ paella requires a very long preparation time and cannot be replaced by a frozen version, which is also often offered in restaurants.

There are many top-class restaurants in Ibiza, but not all of them specialise in this dish.

Ask us where you can get good, authentic paella locally or book XXX, who has specialised in this for many years, to prepare a paella on Can Tunicu before your eyes.
